Concrete Wall - Zee Avi ( Song of Awesome)

Fashion Favorites

Zuhair Murad
I've been really into fashion recently and have been attempting to develop my sense of style. I want my own taste and to do so I've been checking out what's out there. Coincidentally, I found a new designer who is my absolute favorite. Zuhair Murad is ridiculously talented. He has a lot of subtle nature elements which I love. His new collection is just stunning and bright and entrancing. Check out the newest spring/summer collection.
An old love of mine is Oscar De La Renta who I would love to have design my wedding dress. The man knows how to work his way around a body. Simple gorgeous pieces.
In my endeavour to come into the fashion world I've started buying a couple pieces here and there and slowly finding who I am fashion wise and I finally found a piece that I fell in love with. An accessory. It's from the MKF collection and it just hit my heart. I actually found it while casually browsing nomorerack.com casually but the sale ended and I thought I lost it but amazon.com reunited us. I have no regrets.
Fashion is not something someone can really teach you. Everyone has to find their own sense of style which is why there are so many different styles of clothes and types of accessories and it's the wearers job to put them together how they see fit. It's something I think is reflective of you are and even how much you care about yourself sometimes. It's a thing. I have a new thing.

Song of Awesome - Babel

Babel by Mumford & Sons

We Accept The Love We Think We Deserve

I've recently witnessed the beginnings of a friend's abusive relationship with their family. I've seen difficult parents before but this was beyond that. I also recently watched the movie Perks of Being A Wallflower. A wonderful movie where the quote, "We accept the love we think we deserve" originated (as far as I know). I have a fear of abusive relationships, which may sound silly but the thought literally makes my chest tighten and my stomach churn. People in abusive relationships may not know they're in one. They even make excuses for the abusers. Please, if you see someone you know in this situation, take time to help them realize and break free from this.
No one deserves to be abused. If you are in this situation and you are reading this, YOU DO NOT DESERVE THAT! You are better than that. You are beautiful and amazing and I wish I knew you so I could get to know you because I just know that you are amazing. Find someone to love you. Find a friend. I'm here. Shoot me a message any time of the day and I'll get back to you. You can find love.

Self-discovery... Pt. 1

Right now, I'm in that state where I'm always confused and emotional and crazy. A state most people my gae go through. I honestly didn't know why I was feeling this way and I realized I depended on my best friend TOO much. I was at a point where I couldn't make MYSELF happy. I hated that I was like that and I finally realized, I wasn't myself and I didn't know who I was. So I set myself on a path of discovery.
In order to "find myself", I decided to cut myself off from my best friend for a bit. Not that she was harmful but she made me different. I wasn't that confused child-like person around her. And like I said, I needed to be in that state to understand that state and change that state, if that makes sense. Then I lied down in bed before bed or on the ride before work and thought... about simple things. Like what I like or don't like. Knowing simple things like this makes it easier to know why you feel certain ways about people/things. I'm still in this stage but I have a plan. I have a notebook that I also use for my creative writing that I'm now using to record myself. Later on, I plan on making a timeline. That way I'll be able to know who I was and more importantly, who I've become.
On the journey to know who you are, it's important to take it slow. You don't want to break your brain. Don't overwhelm yourself. You aren't the same person you were before and don't expect to know yourself the same second you think about it. It can take months or years. You might constantly have to find yourself if you're an ever changing person. You won't be the same person today as you will be in 10 years. It's important to know yourself at the moment however.
Pro tip: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” -- Mahatma Gandhi
Being self-less is always a good way to be happy. Not sure how it works, but making other people happy is usually a sure-fire way to make yourself happy.
“Sometimes you hit a point where you either change or self destruct.” ― Sam Stevens
